Introducing Regional United States Battlegroups

During this week's campaign we were trying out something completely new with US Battlegroups. To allow players from all over the country to enjoy the experience of playing Shadow Cities as a part of a large group and meet new mages, all US players were assigned to national 1000-player-battlegroups during the Campaign.

Next week we will be introducing yet again changes that affect Battlegroups mainly in the US but also all other countries.

New Regional US Battlegroups

With the next week's Campaign 'Shadow Feast' we will be introducing new regionally assigned US Battlegroups which allow you to play and connect with all the mages around your region. Starting from monday November 28th there will be 5 regional US Battlegroups.

The new US Battlegroups are: 1. Northeast, 2. South Atlantic, 3. South Central, 4. Midwest and Mountain and 5. Pacific. More detailed information of these new battlegroups can be viewed below.

Player limit removed from Battlegroups

Related to this change, we will be also removing the 1000 player limit from battlegroups, so that you will be playing with all the mages in your region or country regardless of when you login to a new Campaign round. Note that addition to the United States, this change applies also to all other countries.

Hmmm....the effect of TX on the rest of the South Central grouping will be enormous. I'd have liked to see them stay separate (as well as CA and NY), but we'll hafta see....

I call BS!! Take your region crap and save it for europe! How do u expect us to bounce from state to state with a limited beacon list? The updated beacon list could have work in a smaller area but now? Its nice to meet other people but its also nice to be able to stroll thru your neighborhood.

US Midwest and Mountain has TWENTY states. Really?

And places like NY and CA hardly need more players. This isn't going to work.

I think this is going in the right direction, but it would still be nice to keep BG at least near each other. Im in Illinois, had an awesome game meet up that we planned in team chat, now we can't do that because Illinois is nowhere near new mexico or arizona, yet we're in the same BG. You made a BG that's bigger in area than basically any european country. I'll play it, see if it works before any real criticism since at least now I can actually talk to my neighbors in team chat.

Am happy to try it out and see what happens,
but, would really like to know how regions were determined.

Because, I suspect this is going to need some adjustments.

also, whats so bad about just midwest and just mountain, why do they need to be together? not every BG needs to be the same size.

When does Portugal, Spain, Ireland, UK, and France combine? Why is Australia and New Zealand separate from Singapore? I think Italy should have to play with Canada too
