Need Policy on Multi-account play

After several players in the CA chat blatantly admit to actively playing multiple accounts on the same side in the same round (check the cross-team chat logs, between 6:45-7:15am PST 7/4/11) I am going to stop playing Shadow Cities.
Please do consider making a formal statement in the game rules that such play isn't allowed. It won't stop it, but at least people will understand it's outside of what normal play would be.

I see that as well as people creating accounts of the opposite team. I imagine it's easy to destroy enemy doms, catchers, beacons, etc when you just create them for yourself. It actually makes the game rather meaningless. People aren't destroying actual "enemy" structures, but really their own stuff. Which side wins depends on which side farms the most. People can more easily place number one in the campaign as well.

See, I'm thinking about starting a second account, not to have easy farming, but because I'm maxed out and really don't get to do much with the one I have now. Additionally, once I have them both maxed, I can help set up larger PvP events. Not all the intentions of multiple accounts are nefarious.

PLAYING multiple accounts in the same side for a round, so your side gets more points, and wins, is kinda crappy, don't you think?
Bigtail (arch team, California) admitted his "farming account" was his 2nd account, and it was well over 2K and at one point in the top 5 (he took first place this last round) giving the animators a win in an otherwise close round. Another arch in the same chat laughingly said he had 9 accounts. Wow, that's fun.
Pretty nefarious.
2nd account on enemy team for spying... 2nd account to double the number of doms in your area... these are, IMHO, really not in the spirit of fair play.
2nd account to figure out how energy works, or to change your user name, or to switch sides, or just to have the fun of leveling up all over again... fine. As long as you don't run both at the same time (which people are doing, and flat out admitting to) shouldn't be wrong.
It's wrong in every MMO game I have ever played to "multi" in an active game/round/live game. It should be wrong here, and if it's not that's cool - but I won't play.
I want to play against other people. Not against other people with multiple active accounts.

Agree 100%! Grey Area your silence is deafening on this topic. You should be providing leadership on this topic by more clearly specifying what is acceptable as it relates to multiple accounts, instead you can't even at least say you're "discussing solutions" or "stay tuned for an update". Anything would at least let us know you acknowledge the issue and are trying to come to a solution of any kind would be better than silence. Then sticky it do everyone can see.

From the linked post "Instead, our current strategy is to design the game in a fashion where dual accounts are not really worth the while. Yes, it's possible to complete some of the PVP Missions by shooting down your own stuff, but shuffling accounts back and forth is generally more trouble than just playing the game. It's also a lot less fun. "
This is discussing multiple accounts, same device. Clearly the game developers totally don't understand the scope of the problem or the total destruction of any semblance of fair gameplay multiple accounts introduces. Maybe it's cultural.
Let me point out just two of the many advantages:
1) same player, multiple devices, multiple active accounts: huge score advantage - every hour online is two hours of mana for generating score.
2) same player, multiple accounts - single or multiple devices - huge score advantage for area control - why limit yourself to 6 gateways when you can control 12? 18? 24? 30? Easy as pie, just level up 2 or more accounts, have them control everything you can get to - makes your doms more valuable, since your "team" (which is just you) controls more Gateways. Works best if you live in an area with lots of GWs, or you spoof your location. Why not? After all, it's not illegal!
I could go on, but why bother.
Happy hunting all, it was fun.
