Request for gateway placement/density review

Perceived problem: In cloudview, I can see 30 gateways in fredricksburg va, pop 22k. In downtown Edmonton ab, pop 1000k, I can only see 1. There are a couple more, but not close enough to be visible in cloudview.
Suggestion: Gateway density/placement should take population and cell phone coverage into consideration.

Right now, gateways are created from the data on geonames.org. I believe it's things tagged as city/village or park/... lake? get gateways. GA is working on revamping and revising their maps for the live countries as well as getting gateways ready for new countries. There are a lot of places where the geonames tags are incorrect, so probably the best thing you can do is login to geonames.org and make sure your area is appropriately tagged. 
(GA's also stated anyone found mis-tagging geonames will be banned, so don't tag just to give yourself an advantage)

We recognize the problems with lack of gateways especially in some big cities in Canada. I'm happy to say that we are currently working on a map update for major cities also in Canada which will fix this issue. It should be only matter of couple of weeks that the gateway situation will be better there. Thanks for your patience

Is there a way to update these when they are wrong? Not that I want to change my main gateway, but it lists the intramural fields where the campus stadium is located... which is about a mile or so away with several streets in between.
Mainly I would hate to affect a few people and their ability to locate dominators as that much of a jump would skew the locations considerably. Much of the residential area in the north part of town probably wouldn't be able to see it, which I guess might incentivize them to take over the other gateway at the far north. As it stands, I think I'll let it lie because I think this is a better placement having one on each end of campus and makes for a better warzone than to update it and make it correct.

It looks like if you create an account on geonames.org, you can contribute to the tagging and such, but I haven't played around with it much myself.

Remember that Geonames.org is used by many applications and people over the world.

For your information and to save your precious time, changing geonames.org data doesn't update gateways to Shadow Cities, so please don't use your time adding data to geonames.org if you are doing so because of Shadow Cities.
We are doing a map update to Shadow Cities and adding more gateways in very close future, but if you add data to geonames.org, these gateways won't be added to Shadow Cities.

Ok, so you're not going to use geonames.org data as base of gateway location anymore?
If this is the case then where can we go or who do we turn to, to fix all the blatant mistakes of having grocery stores, libraries, roads and what not appear as gateways?

I've fot two gateways in view, but last night I hopped to a friend's beacon had saw she had NINE... In local view! When I went to cloudview from her homne, that entire local circle had a similar distribution.

The gateway update that we will implement should help with this issue. With blatant mistakes or dual gateways you can notify us through the Support site. Reports of wrong gateway information are appreciated!
