Balance to Perfection(let me be more clear FIXING THE UNFAIRNESS BETWEEN TEAMS ^_^ )

First off a few things will be covered.
1. Multiple Accounts
2. Uneven teams and scores
3. everything is perfect

1. Multiple accounts- I thought a something that would be possible to introduce into the program of the game. For each "network" or house system, only 1 account can exists per iDevice. If a household only has 1 iDevice, than 5 accounts can exist. After the first account, each other account for that household has to be for same team. (this will keep families together, stop a lot of spies, and effectively prevent sabotage.)
If someone gets a new iDevice in that household, it just adds on.

Another scenario suggestion is
1 device=5 accounts
2 devices=4 accounts (+1 if all 5 were used at 1 account)
3 devices=3 accounts (+1 if 4 were used at 2 and +2 if 5 were used at 1 account)
4 devices= 4 accounts (+1 if 5 used at 1 device)
5 devices= 5 accounts
6 devices= 6 accounts
etc.

2. With the previous suggestion, the team point bonus would be more effective. Using the idea of bonus according to difference, teams can be playing on even fields. I wrote this equation to help show my idea

# of people in more person team/ # of people in less person team = Factor of difference
1000/500=2

Then you multiply the Factor of difference the number of points for each player on the less person team.

So lets say the 1000 players each made 100 points so the more player team has um..... 100,000
And the less player team of 500 made 100 points each. They have 50,000
BUT when multiiplying that number by the factor of difference,
you get a tie.

So random numbers, each player makes 100 energy
1569/392==4.00255102
1569 x 100= 156,900
392 x 100= 39,200
39,200 x 4.00255102=156,900

Now i know each situation won't be THIS PERFECT, but you have to admit this does solve the problem.

3. everything is Perfect.

I just said it Everything is Perfect ^_^

(excuse any typos. those are not perfect lol)

Interesting ideas, Depth.

I still don't think multiple accounts should be allowed on any one device and logout should be removed, unless an account is being closed, to prevent any/all multiple account use. I have a hard time believing that more than one person is going to share an iPhone or iPod (iPad, MAYBE, but even that's a bit of a stretch). That won't stop people with multiple devices from abusing, but should drastically stem the flow of abuse.

On the subject of campaign/round points, that's a situation where multi-account abusers come into play once again, either by setting up structures for a main account to bust for missions and energy, or having a bunch of accounts on the same team to rack up harvesting. With that issue cleared, then it comes down to who's the best recruiter. If your team doesn't recruit well, tough. Work harder (longer hours campaigning) or smarter (recruit when off-line).

Anvar, this limits the accounts(some multis are for research like this one and gabes.) and they all have to be same color in household so they wouldnt be able to sabotage other team.

And, with them all on same team, sure they can rack it up with harvesting, but for harvesting to really be effective u need to have at least around 4-6 doms. without that many, a lot of people only get to level 5, which is 2 doms. so not much help. AND it's still limited a lot by number of devices. This, i think would REALLY help solve the problem, and the programs would not be very complicated for the team that MADE THIS GAME! lol

It's a start Depth.

I thought of limiting devices to one account each but didn't add it because I'm not real sure if GA looking specifically into IP addresses would be an invasion of privacy or not. I have no clue because this is my first MMORPG type of thing I've ever done. Could be a little legal stuff, which may cost GA, and for now the game is free which makes everyone happy.

I'd imagine they have this same issue in World of Warcraft? Wonder how they handle that. Maybe because it's not free? I don't know.

Anyway, multiple accounts or not, balancing energy distribution... somehow... does seem like it would work. I don't know if this idea hasn't been brought up before with this game or not, but in the "real world" it's not at all an original idea. There's always the "human" issue and cheating, but it's already here so something like this could only help matters.

How do you define household? If a college dorm is all on the same wifi access point, do they all have to be on same team? What if I setup my account at work or on 3G? How will you know what "household" I am in when I go home?

This might seem reasonable in your simple example where everyone gains 100 energy. However, you can't just blindly use the difference in numbers to adjust the score. Numbers can be thrown off due to alt accounts, cheat accounts, etc. You might have a team with dozens of accounts that collect less than 50 energy in a round. In my experience the vast majority of energy collected in a round is collected by the top 20 players.

One account per device is pretty reasonable, if it's implementable.

Tenar, thats a good point, but then again each persojn on campus who played would have their own iDevice, meaning the idea i have still works.

Amurder, you are wrong. The numbers can not be messed up by alt accounts because, like i said, once someone picks a team the iDevice can only be used to make accounts for THAT team(if you can even make another account)

amurder again: and if you do it on 3g, i guess it would just pick up the first wifi you connect to and be registered to that network, and its not illegal for the IP address i played a game, thta if someone got banned it affected their actual IP address. so yeah.
