In the future Campaigns won't be fought just between the Animators and the Architects, but between Battlegroups.
Besides Battlegroups as a part of the Campaign system we will be also introducing new and improved Comms View.

Twinspire Campaign starts tonight at 6 pm! Get ready to attack, defend and donate Spirits.
This week's Campaign introduces a small new twist into the game. Instead of one Super Beacon there will now appear always two Super Beacons in the same location, one for each team. Just like before, you will get a notification of a summoned Super Beacon calling you to defend or attack.
Also like we told earlier this week, the Spirit Bag and the Research Lab will be removed in the future version of Shadow Cities. We strongly encourage all of you to start donating ...

And we finally have the winner! Win of the Chicken Campaign went to the Architects. Congratulations all! Next Campaign will start already today at 6 pm. Get ready!
Why was Shadow Cities down so long? At approximately noon yesterday Amazon EC2 datacenter that we're using to host the game started showing problems with increased latency with EBS volumes. The servers recovered for about an hour but then failed completely in a spectacular manner. This failure proved to be the most serious in AWS history taking down some of the most popular sites and services.
Shadow Cities was hit hard ...

While we are still testing out some of the basic game mechanics in the current Shadow Cities client version, we are at the same time putting all our energy into developing our new game client, which will be released with the global launch this spring, starting from the US and perhaps a couple of other countries!
We are really excited about all the cool stuff our game designers have been working on during the past couple of months. Besides new content we will be also changing the focus of the gameplay quite a lot in the new client.
We know ...

This week we are bringing a highly experimental new feature into the game: Dodge spell.
And how does it work? If you manage to warp or dewarp to a long enough distance after an enemy Mage has started to cast a War Chant on you, you have a chance of dodging his spell. You can only dodge attacks of other Mages, not Spirits.
As said, this is an experimental feature and internet connections, especially 3G connections may have much influence on how the feature will work in real gameplay. With weaker connections the time to react after enemy has started ...

The theme of this week's Campaign is ruthless! Cast your War Chant upon thy enemies and defend your neighborhoods from hostile takeover by banishing as many Mages as your Z-Spell can reach.
We will be rewarding the most merciless Banishers with tempting Mana Potion rewards in the end of the Campaign.
Banishing opposition Mages gives also now more Energy points than before.
The Campaign is on!

The New Moon Campaign took Mages on a Spirit hunt. Total of 10 000 rare Spirits were captured during the Campaign. In the end it was the Animators who triumphed to victory. Good job!
The top 3 Spirit Hunters of the Campaign were: 1. Are of the Architects, 2. The Gandalf of the Animators and 3. Tauno of the Architects. All three were awarded with Mana Potions.
This is how the World Leaderboard looked like in New Moon Campaign:

Enter the streets of Shadow Cities for a Spirit hunt! During new moon period Mages look into the stars for guidance. The phasing Moon has affected the rarest of Spirits. The rare 3 star Spirits give out now an extra amount of Energy Points for your team when captured.
In New Moon Campaign we didn't want to bring any big new changes to the Campaign rules. We are also keeping Super Beacons and added Energy gain based on Realm values, which were introduced in the previous Campaign, as a part of the rule set. If you missed out on ...
