Here’s the promised heads up on the upcoming Campaign that starts on Friday afternoon. We're still tweaking the details, but to sum it up: the goal will be to conquer as many Gateways as possible for your team in your Cloudview area.
You get Energy points depending on how many Gateways within the Cloudview belong to your team. So we’re shifting focus from conquering single neighborhoods towards conquering cities.
Partly inspired also by the good player feedback, we see a new version of Harvest that emphasizes area control and offensive play.
The most essential changes to the ...

Big thanks to our very active Mage community for bringing the bug relating Dominator health to our attention in the Circle of Life Campaign.
The system calculating Dominator health based on realm value and other factors got out of control, but thanks to you we were able to spot and fix the bug quickly.
Here's the updated rule set for the Campaign:
- Dominator health is affected by realm value but not as drasticly as in the beginning.
- Harvest points are affected by realm value mildly but harvest is less effective than in previous Campaigns.
- Energy points gained by healing ...

We have seen the fierce battles and the epic wins just as the falls conquering nodes. It's time to expand and get some harvest time in.
In this weeks campaign you will get to see the following changes:
-Back to the roots. You can build dominators only from your physical location.
-Harvest is back with a vengeance. You can harvest all the friendly dominators, also on a warp.
-Simplify. Conquering a node will give you at least 50 points the first time you take it over plus the bid value effect.
-Cool down. When taking over a particular Gateway ...

Last week introduced a fun set of battle rules to the game. The aim of the next couple of campaigns is to balance the battle rules with area control rules that provide bonus points for holding the conquered territory.
Here are the rules we're introducing today:
- Harvesting while in warp is back in a new form! You can harvest your own Dominators while in warp if you're not warped too far from your physical location. The range is roughly the area shown in the cloud view: you can harvest Dominators that you can see in the cloud view ...

We're starting to roll out first features of the area control game to end the campaign with a bang.
If you surrender a conquered Gateway to the enemy by destroying your own Dominators so that the gateway turns back to enemy color, you will lose the gained conquer points.
You will NOT lose conquer points if the Gateway turns back to white so it is a good tactic to clear the enemy Dominators out if you need to relocate your Dominators.

The rules for the new campaign game are as follows:
- Conquering new gateways yields points for you and your team
- Conquering gateways from the enemy yields points for you and your team
- If a Gateway changes hands between the teams multiple times within an hour its point value starts lowering so that the system cannot be gamed. The points return back to normal after a while.
- Holding Gateways allow you to harvest them which will yield points.
- You can only harvest your own Dominators.
- You cannot harvest Dominators while warping.
- The amount of Dominator max health that Heal spell increases ...

The Spirit Catchers are now changed so that you can capture up to four spirits with one catcher. Your specialization level defines how many Spirits a single catcher may catch. Level 4 catchers capture four spirits, level 3 three spirits and so on. Spirit Catcher is also now able to capture different kinds of Spirits with one catch. You will initially see only the color of the Spirits the Catcher is luring in and the Spirit houses will be revealed after the capture.

Satisfying your energy appetite by dominator farming in safe locations has been one of the main ways to score points. While havens for dominators will stay one of the strategies also in the future, we decided to start rolling in some changes that will bring conquering and combat more to the forefront.
Clearly battling for your familiar active neighborhoods has been one of the coolest things in Shadow Cities. We decided to reward Mages directly when conquering an Energy Gateway for your team. Based on the Gateway activity (how fiercely the gateway is fought over) and its strategic importance, the ...

We have been listening to you on how you feel about the game and your experiences playing it the past several days. The main point we want to get across is that Shadow Cities is not a game that ships and is then forgotten by its developers. If something rubs our players the wrong way, we work hard to make it go away.
Clearly farming Dominators has become a large part of the recipe for success in Shadow Cities. Perhaps a too large. We are currently working on a solution to gradually shift the game play from remote Dominator farms ...
