The Architects win their third consecutive campaign this week! Their supply network was without a doubt the stronger one.
The Shadow of Winter was and end of an era as the game rules go. It was the last campaign where effective handling of faraway Dominator farms was the key to victory. Next week, we will have our Fight Week with new rules. Conquer points will see a boost as will defense and we will enjoy a whole new Harvest mechanism designed for fighting in mind.
This week's top players were:
- Lovemonger - Architects - 100 mana potions
- FLAMEKKi - Architects - 50 mana ...

This week we saw some changes to how campaign points are calculated. We introduced a new gateway conquering point system which caused some great battles around the country.
Next week we will host a fight week. Harvesting dynamics will change significantly to support keeping Dominators where the action is: You will no longer be able to harvest Dominators while warping/beaconing and you can only harvest your own Dominators. Keep those Dominators near you and conquer your neighborhood!
Conquering gateways from the enemy will offer significant returns. If the Gateway has a lord and the Gateway's value has been ...

The Spirit Catchers are now changed so that you can capture up to four spirits with one catcher. Your specialization level defines how many Spirits a single catcher may catch. Level 4 catchers capture four spirits, level 3 three spirits and so on. Spirit Catcher is also now able to capture different kinds of Spirits with one catch. You will initially see only the color of the Spirits the Catcher is luring in and the Spirit houses will be revealed after the capture.

Satisfying your energy appetite by dominator farming in safe locations has been one of the main ways to score points. While havens for dominators will stay one of the strategies also in the future, we decided to start rolling in some changes that will bring conquering and combat more to the forefront.
Clearly battling for your familiar active neighborhoods has been one of the coolest things in Shadow Cities. We decided to reward Mages directly when conquering an Energy Gateway for your team. Based on the Gateway activity (how fiercely the gateway is fought over) and its strategic importance, the ...

Congratulation mages! The Northstar has ended and the winner has been declared. The Architects triumphed over The Animators in the first weekly campaign in Shadow Cities. Congratulations!
Both sides witnessed the emergence of some amazing spell casters and Dominator harvesters. On Animator side I was particularly impressed how @Plz worked the war room. Kudos for that! Similarly one couldn't have avoided hearing the urban legends about @Jason, the Architect and his impressive Energy count. Next week we shall see whether Architects just got lucky or if there is real mad skills behind the victory.
The World Leaderboard looked like ...

We have been listening to you on how you feel about the game and your experiences playing it the past several days. The main point we want to get across is that Shadow Cities is not a game that ships and is then forgotten by its developers. If something rubs our players the wrong way, we work hard to make it go away.
Clearly farming Dominators has become a large part of the recipe for success in Shadow Cities. Perhaps a too large. We are currently working on a solution to gradually shift the game play from remote Dominator farms ...

We are currently working on shifting the game dynamic based on your feedback and experiences. We will release an update for your feedback sometime tomorrow early afternoon on this blog on what we are planning.
Worry not, this won't take effect before Northstar, this week's weekly campaign is over.
We hope to see you all participating into the discussion tomorrow even though Northstar campaign is heating up during its last hours.

We are feverishly trying to figure out in which country should Shadow Cities open up next. We'd love to have a passionate mages on the ground that are interested to seed the game in the local scene and get the whole city onboard so that the Shadow Cities experience will be all the it can be.
Let us know in the comments where you are and whether you think Shadow Cities would work great in your neck of the woods.

As we quietly yesterday released the Shadow Cities app onto the AppStore yesterday it shot straight to #1 top grossing app in the Finnish App Store. The success was so abrupt that we hadn't have a proper help section up to at that point. Here's a few extra steps to guide you along the way.
The goal in the game:
- To own neighborhoods for your team and become the strongest Mage in your city.
To accomplish this you start by conquering your own neighborhood and hunt Spirits for experience. Of course its up to you to choose what ...
