17 NovWhich Country Should We Open Up Next?

We are feverishly trying to figure out in which country should Shadow Cities open up next. We’d love to have a passionate mages on the ground that are interested to seed the game in the local scene and get the whole city onboard so that the Shadow Cities experience will be all the it can be.

Let us know in the comments where you are and whether you think Shadow Cities would work great in your neck of the woods.

United States (And Japan so my friends can play)

I think its obvious why the U.S. would work, so I will put more information into why Japan would work. Since Japan (especially places like Tokyo) are so densly populated, it would make for epic confrontations all the time as people of both sides would live in close proximity.

Shadow Cities should open un in the UK next, and here’s why…

As mages awaken, the newly rediscovered magic spreads westwards from its wellpoint in Finland across the cold, steely, windswept sea to its neighbouring country of Britannia…

As the magik grows, the ancient Dominators of Stone Henge, Avebury and Boskednan slowly begin to come online. Up and down the country, the ley-lines of old begin to thrum with magic, releasing the previously entombed spirits to wreck their particular form of havoc across the land.

The once dormant Energy Gateways of Carn Llechart, Arbor Low and Yarnbury break open once more, pouring forth their energy upon unsuspecting sleeping mages…

Relatively new structures, such as the London Eye, Edingburgh castle and even the very ground on which Gatwick airport now stands, built unwittingly by half-wakened mages at the very centre of massive Energy Gateways, come alive, erupting massive founts of energy on the local populaces…

And everywhere, ordinary people, people like you and me, without knowing why, wake up with the sudden realisation that they’re not so ordinary after all…and something is calling them…

Netherlands. Quite dense country, very high iPhone penetration. Still not too much people to avoid extensive server load. And we could influence our fellows at Sanoma Netherlands playing big time

  29. 29 Ville Vesterinen said at 5:56 pm on November 18th, 2010:

Thank you mages! We’ll weight on your answers when deciding where to go next. We’ll update soon about the next destination.

  35. 35 Fee said at 4:07 pm on November 19th, 2010:

Sweden and/or Estonia. What’s better than waging a bloody war on your neighboring countries. The physical distances are short so if you don’t have any friends in those countries then take a boat trip there and build a beacon.

  36. 36 Playah said at 5:30 pm on November 19th, 2010:

Probably Estonia. Since the game isn’t stable enough for Finland, it’s not stable enough for the US, UK, France or any other larger country.

  37. 37 Jdeez said at 7:18 am on November 20th, 2010:

U.S. no real explanation needed, it will do very well here
