17 Nov — Which Country Should We Open Up Next?
We are feverishly trying to figure out in which country should Shadow Cities open up next. We’d love to have a passionate mages on the ground that are interested to seed the game in the local scene and get the whole city onboard so that the Shadow Cities experience will be all the it can be.
Let us know in the comments where you are and whether you think Shadow Cities would work great in your neck of the woods.

Hi! I am from Malaysia, i am playing shadow Cities too. but i unable to find the gateway. what should i do?
Estonia, of course
The Netherlands! I know I have several friends here who will fight over Amsterdam with me.
U.S.
The United States
United States (And Japan so my friends can play)
I think its obvious why the U.S. would work, so I will put more information into why Japan would work. Since Japan (especially places like Tokyo) are so densly populated, it would make for epic confrontations all the time as people of both sides would live in close proximity.
Canada.
The UK. Start in Edinburgh.
Sweden
USA please.
Uae-Dubai. Soon ill be there!
Sweden!!!!
The UK please!!!!!!
Portugal!
U.S may be the most possible place. But I’m in New Zealand so please release the game in App Store NZ >_<
Switzerland
highest per capita IPhone usage and loads of venture capital to be found
Canada please
Germany!
[...] This post was mentioned on Twitter by Sami Niemelä and Casimir Tuomi, Shadow Cities. Shadow Cities said: About to decide in which country to open #shadowcities next. Loved to have a passionate Mages on the ground. Go vote at http://bit.ly/aOWvwE [...]
US. Austin, TX. We have the SXSW (South-by-Southwest) convention here so the the players would skyrocket, it’s all tech and interactive stuff - you should come out to SXSW, this is perfect for it. Con’s in March.
Barcelona, Spain ( If you can do it by February 2011 => Mobile world Congress)
Followed by Stockholm, Sweden,
Followed by Zurich, Switzerland
Followed by London, UK( In time for the Olympics or the Wedding )
Followed by South Korea
Followed by Japan
Good Luck guys..
Every. Single. Country.
Or if not that then the USA please.
I vote for sweden
Iceland!
Shadow Cities should open un in the UK next, and here’s why…
As mages awaken, the newly rediscovered magic spreads westwards from its wellpoint in Finland across the cold, steely, windswept sea to its neighbouring country of Britannia…
As the magik grows, the ancient Dominators of Stone Henge, Avebury and Boskednan slowly begin to come online. Up and down the country, the ley-lines of old begin to thrum with magic, releasing the previously entombed spirits to wreck their particular form of havoc across the land.
The once dormant Energy Gateways of Carn Llechart, Arbor Low and Yarnbury break open once more, pouring forth their energy upon unsuspecting sleeping mages…
Relatively new structures, such as the London Eye, Edingburgh castle and even the very ground on which Gatwick airport now stands, built unwittingly by half-wakened mages at the very centre of massive Energy Gateways, come alive, erupting massive founts of energy on the local populaces…
And everywhere, ordinary people, people like you and me, without knowing why, wake up with the sudden realisation that they’re not so ordinary after all…and something is calling them…
U.S. ftw.
Netherlands. Quite dense country, very high iPhone penetration. Still not too much people to avoid extensive server load. And we could influence our fellows at Sanoma Netherlands playing big time
Thank you mages! We’ll weight on your answers when deciding where to go next. We’ll update soon about the next destination.
United States! ^^
Sweden! Penetration of iPhone services is *fantastic*, trust me, I know
Canada please and thank you
estonia!
I bet you’re one of the green hippies.
Sweden and/or Estonia. What’s better than waging a bloody war on your neighboring countries. The physical distances are short so if you don’t have any friends in those countries then take a boat trip there and build a beacon.
Probably Estonia. Since the game isn’t stable enough for Finland, it’s not stable enough for the US, UK, France or any other larger country.
U.S. no real explanation needed, it will do very well here
Australia. very dense population (80% of Australians live on the coast) and very walkable cities. many famous landmarks and locations to fight over.
Germany pleaaaase =)
usa
Great to hear
That was great… wow….
Anyways though, United States. Some of us Wall street guys are looking for new reasons to slit each other’s throat to keep the competition fresh.
UNITED STATES OF AMERICAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
I agree. It’s gotta be Tokyo.
USA USA USA U S AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
There is clearly a whole lot to know about this. I believe you produced some great points in Attributes also.
Keep operating , great career!
USA should be the last country to get this game because they get EVERYTHING before Europe, EVERYTHING, shame on you americans…
